Despacito the song of Puerto Rican singer Luis Fonsi along with Daddy Yankee was released in the year 2017. It was the top one streamed music at that period within the space of six months. In 2017, the song Despacito, which combines pop music with reggaeton was not only a way to bring new attention to reggaeton music but also sparked interest in Latin music. The Billboard Top 100 included four mostly Spanish songs in 2016, and two songs in 2015. At the peak of Despacito's popularity, however 19 mostly Spanish tracks made the top 100 as well, and by 2020 there were 41 such songs. Justin Bieber's bilingual remix Despacito was released in 2017. Soon after, popular artists started collaborating with reggaeton performers. Drake collaborated with Bad Bunny on MIA (2018) as well as Madonna worked with Maluma for the release of Medellin. The gradual mainstreaming of reggaeton became an issue for some artists by the year 2020. Rauw alejandro and a younger generation wanted to preserve the style. The musician incorporated electronic dance music and other genres into his songs.
