American actor and musician Awkwafina made her debut with humorous hip-hop tracks that addressed sexual identity and race with a the most outrageous comedy perspective prior to increasing her presence in Hollywood. The actress was born Nora Lum to Chinese and Korean immigrant parents in Forest Hills Queens her first taste of musician life came via trumpet. Later, she began hip-hop and classical training. Concentrating on school she studied journalism as well as women's studies at college, even taking classes in Mandarin in Beijing for a time. After graduation, her focus shift to music.
