Anamaria Marinca is an Romanian actress. Her debut on screen was with her role in the Channel 4 film Sex Traffic and was the recipient of the British Academy Television Award for the Best actress. Fluently speaks French, German and English. Her father, a professor of theater at one of Romania's top drama schools, is also theater teacher. In the Mangalia Gala of Young Actors in 2000, she took home the Best Female Actor Award 2000. The year 2008 saw her honoured"an European Shooting Star" by the European Film Promotion Board.
