
Kristen Anne Bell (born July 18th, 1980)[1] is an American actress and singer. Following her beginnings in acting as a stage actor at the Tisch School of the Arts, New York University, Bell made her Broadway stage debut in The Adventures of Tom Sawyer. Bell also performed in the Broadway revival of The Crucible the year after. She later appeared in the action thriller film Spartan (2004) and earned praise for her performance in the television drama film Gracie's Choice (2004).Her first major part was as the main character in the teen noir TV series Veronica Mars (2004-2007), getting praise from the critics and winning the Saturn Award for Best Actress on Television for her performance. She reprised the role in the 2014 film and the reboot in 2019. Bell appeared in the musical Reefer Madness: The Movie Musical (2005) as Mary Lane. This was the reprise of her role from her New York musical. Bell also starred in Heroes, a superhero-themed drama in which she played Elle Bishop, from 2007 from 2007 to in 2008. She voiced the titular narrator in the series for teens called Gossip Girl, reprising the role in the sequel in 2021. Bell also played the part of Jeannie van den Hooven, who is the main female character in Showtime's comedy show House of Lies. Bell starred as Eleanor Shellstrop, the leading character in the critically acclaimed NBC comedy show The Good Place. She was nominated for the Golden Globe Award.
